Verónica
Castro
(vocals and percussion)
Born in Chile, she started her musical education
at the "Escuela
de desarrollo artístico"(school of artistic development)
while playing bass with the Youth orquestra of Antofagasta.
She traveled, to Argentina where she started
her career as a southamerican folks music, participating in the music
arena (peñas) in the
wel-known "barrio San Telmo" in Buenos Aires.
While in Holland, Verónica was invited
by the famous Dutch composer Louis Andriessen to sing poetry from
Federico Garcia Lorca.
During 10 years she sang in duet with her sister Jacqueline, travelling
to different countries in Europe, South America and Africa.
Over the years, she sang in several theaters like Paradiso, Melkweg,
Concert gebouw, De Meervaat, De Doelen,, among others.
She has also participated in many international festivals and has
being invited in different television programs as a solist to perform
along prestigous musicians.
Today she explores the quality of her voice
in the passionate world of folks ("La noche de los amigos"), Salsa ("Verónica
y su medicina") and Ethnic-Rock (“21,3Gr”).
